Hello friends! The cold winter months are coming to an end and it's time to get out and enjoy the spring weather while taking in sights of the gorgeous cherry blossoms trees around national mall. Here is my short list of 10 spots that are have seasonal cherry blossom cocktails or a relaxing rooftop view to take in the warm(er) weather!
#1 | The Line Hotel
Neighborhood: Adams Morgan
Best for: Sceney mix and creative cocktails in a gorgeous old church. Featuring cherry blossom-inspired dining and seasonal events this spring!
#2 | The Cherry Blossom Pop-Up
Neighborhood: Shaw Best for: Photo-worthy popup bar that is a tourist destination. If you live in DC, go during the week to avoid the crowds!
#3 | Colombia Room
Neighborhood: Mt Vernon Square / Blagden Alley Best for: Girls love this spot because of the gorgeous punch garden rooftop and guys love the Spirits library for a dark and sophisticated place to grab a drink.
#4 | Dacha Beer Garden
Neighborhood: Shaw Best for: The perfect place to take your Saturday day crew drinking! *Bonus* they have giant pretzels!
#5 | Colada Shop
Neighborhood: 14thStreet Best for: Cuban coffee, Cuban food, Cuban cocktails with a darling rooftop view of 14thstreet. You must try the Colada Blossom made with cherry blossom liquer to kick off spring in DC!
#6 | The Gibson
Neighborhood: U Corridor Best for: An intimate date experience. I’ve been to the Gibson a couple of times but just discovered the outside patio! Make a reservation ahead of time!
#7 | Cortez
Neighborhood: Shaw Best for: A Sunday Funday with friends! Cortez is a cute new rooftop I recently discovered that offers a free beer with every taco from5pm-5pm on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and ALL day Sunday!
#8 | Bar Deco
Neighborhood: Chinatown Best for: Getting out of the Shaw/U Corridor district for another rooftop view with a larger group of friends! I happen to enjoy the food here and would make it a place to go for Bottomless brunch.
#9 | Brixton
Neighborhood: Shaw Best for: Add Brixton to your list of stops while parading around the Shaw district on a Saturday afternoon. They have a large roof deck with live DJ sets on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights.
#10 Pearl Street Warehouse
Neighborhood: Wharf Best for: Drinks following a romantic dinner. The Wharf feels very date-y to me, but if you want to keep the evening light and fun, transition to Pearl Street for live music and late night drinks (open until 2am).
Bonus: Hank’s The Wharf
Neighborhood: Wharf Best for: Saturday or Sunday brunch by the waterfront with friends, family, or a date. I ordered the most fantastic Bloody Mary severed with a piece of artisanal beef jerky as a garnish.
Happy Spring!
Love, S
