The last time I wrote a blog was over four months ago, and I never published it. Due to COVID-19, I thought it would be inappropriate to share my new five favorite restaurants to in DC.
Yesterday, I had to pull the plug on an engagement party my parents were throwing for me and my fiancé, Peter. The event was originally scheduled for June 13th, which we rescheduled for August 8th believing that things would return to normal by then.
Peter and I got engaged during quarantine. We haven’t been able to properly celebrate one of the most exciting times of our lives with the people we love. My heart goes out to every bride who had to postpone or cancel their weddings.
We spent an incredible amount of time planning the perfect celebration that would capture the essence of our relationship. I was born and raised in Georgia and love southern food and culture. Peter has lived in five different cities and is more worldly and eclectic. I tend to be a bit more formal and serious, whereas Peter is lighthearted and down-to-earth.
We planned a backyard, southern vintage celebration with my favorite southern classic cuisine. The event would have been fun and colorful, with lots of organic style florals and greenery.
Since we can no longer have the celebration, I thought I could share our designs with all of you. It is also the perfect opportunity to highlight some of the amazing vendors we have chosen.
