DAY 5: Manhattan Munchies- food ideas from sun up to sun down.





Ladies and Gentlemen!


Instead of sharing my Top 5 favorite places to eat, I have briefly outlined 10 amazing restaurants to try in NYC.


From my list, it will be easy to discover what restaurant suits your needs; girls trip, date night, romantic dinner, or low-key spot to feel like a local. If you did not find exactly what you are looking for, review my "other favorites" at the bottom for additional ideas. If you have any questions about them, feel free to ask!


Breakfast


ess-a-bagel

Ess-a-Bagel

Price: $

Famous for: Arguably the best bagels in NYC. They are cut and rolled by hand in house every morning. Not to mention, they are low in salt, preservatives, sugar free and HUGE!

Vibe: Casual bagel shop. Good for anyone, anytime, any day of the week.

My order: Egg, bacon, cheddar, on a cinnamon raison bagel with a side of strawberry cream cheese! *Eat the first half sweet and the second half savory.


Brunch & Lunch

Pardon My French

Price: $$

Famous for: Their native, attractive Frenchmen staff, oui oui.

Vibe: Fun for large parties! Parisian chic. There is also a garden in the back- if it’s not too hot outside, request reservations in the garden.

My order: Bottomless mimosa and eggs benedict for $28.


Dudley's

Price: $$

Famous for: An afternoon hangout spot and a patio for people-watching.

Vibe: Intimate Australian-American café in the Lower East Side. A place where locals dine and linger over cocktails in a romantic yet upbeat setting. Good for a small group needing an afternoon pick me up.

My order: Pistachio bread, Kale Salad with Goji Berries, Dried Cranberries, Sunflower + Pumpkin Seeds, Pecorino, and Quinoa. Espresso Martini.

Famous for: Upscale Vegan- The Vegan “Shake Shack”

Vibe: Perfect for a girl’s trip. California Cool- a well to do millennial’s fast food #goals

My order: The Classic Burger (tempeh-lentil-chia-walnut patty, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, beet ketchup, special sauce, potato bun) and sweet potato fries.


Dinner


Cafe Medi


Jeffery's Grocery

Price: $$$

Famous for: Fresh seafood in West Village

Vibe: Quaint, date night. I've never been to Maine, but I get small town coastal vibes.

My order: Summer Vegetables, Cider Steamed Mussels, Chardonnay.


Cacio e Pepe

Price: $$

Famous for: Caico e pepe... duh! They prepare the pasta in front of you in a wheel of parmesan.

Vibe: One of my favorite date night locations. The restaurant is family owned, relaxed, and has a picturesque twinkle lit garden out back.

My order: Creme Brûlée Appetizer, Summer Salad, Caico e pepe, Branzino, Bruenello di Montealcino.


Cafe Medi

Price: $$$

Famous for: Instagrammable walls, gorgeous interior design, Mediterranean menu.

Vibe: Trendy, fashion types. Great for larger parties.

My order: Mezze Plate, Ceviche, Seared Diver Scallops, Rosé.


Dessert

Laduree Soho

Ladurée SOHO

Price: $$

Famous for: Drool worthy macaroons, Chocolate Eclairs, and all things French.

Vibe: A momentary escape to Paris. Your very own Breakfast at Tiffany's.

My order: Box of 6 macaroons; pistachio, lemon, coffee, rose, chocolate, vanilla.


Lady M

Price: $$$

Famous for: Gorgeous, delicate crêpe cakes.

Vibe: Bright, light, airy. Best for a girls trip. Slightly pretentious.

My order: The mille crêpe cake, green tea cake, and the chocolate checker cake.


Ice and Vice

Price: $

Famous for: Over the top indulgent treats that are insta-worthy.

Vibe: Edgy ice cream shop serving up the most creative ice cream treats with creative colors. Either gender loves this place.

My order: Milk and honey ice cream sammie.

Café Henrie- Healthy/Vegan

Russ and Daughters- Bagel and Lox

Balthazar- One of Soho's former "greats"

Il Buco- Overpriced, but delicious Italian

Morandi- Rustic Italian

Bar Sardine- Best burger, small space

Poco NYC- Local spot in LES

Cata- Spanish Tapas with a Southern twist

Fedora- Speakeasy vibes

Freemans- Hidden spot down Freemans Alley

Beauty and Essex- Overdone but still fun

Café Select- Date night (Swiss inspired)

La Lanterna di Vittorio- My favorite garden. Romantic!
